Critic Reviews

"Based on 70% Blaufränkisch and 30% Zweigelt from the very best grapes and the very best slopes, the 2020 Pannobile Reserve Golser opens with a fruit intense but elegant and attractive bouquet with dark berry aromas and finely toasty notes. Lush and round on the palate yet with remarkably fine tannins, this is a dense and concentrated yet also juicy Pannobile carried by fresh acidity and structured by tart and spicy yet ripe tannins. Impressive. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022."

"Fresh and vibrant, this elegant red sports friendly notes of raspberry and mulberry, with vibrant acidity and light tannins that build structure around it. Moderate length. — Aleks Zecevic"

"Fragrant with reduced raspberry aromas, this harmonious red also features cherry, leather and tobacco notes. The supple texture is offset by firm yet ripe and refined tannins and mouthwatering acidity, which gives this fuel for a long finish. — Aleks Zecevic"

About The Winery
In 1991, at 22 years old, Paul Achs took the lead of the family winery in Gols, Austria, where his family had been working in the wine industry since 1684. Gols is a small winemaking village located in the Neusiedlersee district of Austria's Burgenland region, 60 km (37 miles) southeast of Vienna near the Hungarian border. Paul's roots are established in two key areas: the Heideboden and the Parndorfer Platte. The 25 hectares (61.8 acres) of vines are divided into 40 plots, each with individual potential. This wide distribution gives the winery a variety of soils and microclimates - ideal for creating exciting, authentic wines year after year. In 2006, The Paul Achs winery received biodynamic certification for their meticulous care and thoughtfulness in tending to their vines and winemaking process. Today, Paul believes a vital soil supports the ripening process of the grapes in a very positive way. His belief is that mindfulness and respect for nature create and preserve values.
