“A slightly riper and more deeply pitched aromas of plum, dark cherry and more prominent floral elements. There is both better volume and richness to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess impressive intensity on the dusty, youthfully austere and solidly long finale. This fine effort is sufficiently firm to repay mid to even longer-term cellaring.”

“The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Clos du Cailleret ler Cru has more mineralité and complexity than the Folatières. Yellow plum, orchard fruit with touches of apricot blossom are all very seductive. The palate is very well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh with Clementine, Williams pear, and a touch of sea salt on the finish. Excellent. By Neal Martin on November 2022”

“Here too the supporting wood is admirably subtle on the more floral-suffused aromas of mineral reduction, green apple and crushed fennel. This is also quite sleek on the palate of the slightly denser medium weight flavors that possess focused power and even more evident minerality on the clean, equally dry and slightly more austere finale. This impressively persistent effort could also use better depth but the development potential is clearly present. (91-94)/2031+”

About The Winery
Since they were first erected by Cistercian monks in 1365, the walls surrounding the Clos des Lambrays have harnessed the harmony of their 8.66 hectares of vines. This notion of the perfect union of the whole persists today and remains Clos des Lambrays' raison d'être. Over the course of the estate's 650-year history, the unity of the Clos has not always been secure. The French Revolution saw the vineyard split across 74 different owners, but its reassembly by the Rodier family in the late 1890s was a defining moment in the Domaine's past, influencing its present, and driving its philosophy, for the future, under the auspices of Groupe LVMH since 2014. In March 2019, Jacques Devauges joined the estate as the General Manager and the Chief Winemaker.
Rediscovering the essence and emotion found in the mythical bottles of Clos des Lambrays from the early 1900s, which still impress today after so many decades is the vision of the whole team, and the inspiration driving their daily efforts in the vineyard and in the cellar.
