Critic Reviews
97 points, Jeb Dunnuck
“Lastly, the 2015 Château Climens is unquestionably in the same league as 2011 and 2014, with slightly more elegance and freshness. More exotic notes of honeyed limes, tart apricots, white flowers, and lavender honey all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with beautiful elegance, good acidity, and a great finish. It’s not as big or opulent as 2011, but it’s flawlessly balanced and will have a long life.”

“The 2015 Climens contain 132g/L residual sugar. Cropped at 21.2hL/ha, it is beautiful and expressive with wild honey, praline, almond, and saffron aromas. The palate is very well balanced with definition, perhaps a bit more depth and concentration than 2016. Beautifully defined and mineral-driven on the finish. Effortless. Outstanding. Tasted at the Clemens vertical at the château in April 2022.”

About The Winery
The exceptionally distinguished Château Climens is classified as a 1er Cru Classé and known as the 'Lord of Barsac'. Its history dates to the 16th century, and only six families have owned the estate from its origins. This is a rare occurrence which explains why its surface area in a continuous single vineyard has practically remained unchanged since the date of its creation. At Château Climens, only the Semillon grape variety is used. Thanks to the limestone terroir of Climens, the estate is able to produce not only unique sweet wines but also exceptional dry white wines.
