"The 2014 Climens have 141g/L residual sugar and were cropped at just 8.8.hL/ha. It has a pure and elegant bouquet. Honey, quince, and white peach mixed with chamomile - this is irresistible. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh with a bewitching tensile finish. Quite penetrating and a little more citrus-driven than 2015. Superb. Tasted at the Climens vertical at the château in April 2022.”
About The Winery
The exceptionally distinguished Château Climens is classified as a 1er Cru Classé and known as the 'Lord of Barsac'. Its history dates to the 16th century, and only six families have owned the estate from its origins. This is a rare occurrence which explains why its surface area in a continuous single vineyard has practically remained unchanged since the date of its creation. At Château Climens, only the Semillon grape variety is used. Thanks to the limestone terroir of Climens, the estate is able to produce not only unique sweet wines but also exceptional dry white wines.
