“A late disgorged Champagne, with 16 years on its lees, this is very fine indeed. Its intensity derives from the Chardonnay from the producer’s home village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, That gives classic steeliness, minerality as well as textured white fruits that meld into the wine and leave a soft aftertaste. The wine is still remarkably full of life showing no signs of aging. Drink now. “

“The 2002 Blanc de Blancs Millésimé Collection is showing superbly, bursting from the glass with aromas of lemon curd, lime zest, white flowers, praline and walnut oil. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with muscular structuring extract, incisive acids and a long, complex finish. This is a beautifully complete, expressive vintage Delamotte that is beginning to drink well.”

“This new release of Delamotte’s 2002 Blanc de Blancs Millésimé Collection is showing as well as ever, wafting from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, lemon curd, crisp yellow apple, toasted brioche and nougat. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it’s generous but incisive, with an ample core of fruit, ripe but racy acids and a long, elegantly toasty finish. While it’s already drinking well it will show even more complexity with a few more years on cork.”

“This is vintage Champagne in a crowd-pleasing, aperitif style for its freshness and overall harmony. It’s fine and creamy in texture, with a lightly mouthwatering backbone of acidity supporting the delicate mesh of Gala apple, lemon sorbet, almond biscotti and a smoky mineral note that plays on the finish. Drink now through 2027.”
