“A good value, the 2014 Chianti Classico is made from 90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot and the rest Colorino. It’s a supple, elegant, medium-bodied effort that has plenty of upfront red fruits, spice and dried flowers. It’s a charmer geared for near-term drinking.”

“Coming from a single vineyard and a solid step up over the Chianti Classico, the 2012 Chianti Classico Riserva Misciano offers tons of ripe currant and cherry fruits, spice, and underbrush aromas and flavors to go with a charming, rounded, fruit forward, and undeniably delicious style on the palate. Made from 100% Sangiovese, it’s going to keep for 5-7 years.”

“The Borgo Scopeto 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna Misciano opens to tangy and slighty raw aromas of scorched earth, wild berry and pressed rose. The fruit comes from the warm Castelnuovo Berardenga comune of the Chianti Classico appellation. On the one hand, this wine delivers some of the simplicity and streamlined personality of a classic Sangiovese. On the other hand, you taste the plushness and extra texture of this sunny vintage...”

About The Winery
Borgo Scopeto is an old and well-established estate producer of Chianti Classico. It is a true borgo - a hamlet with its own church, post office, town center, and residences. Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini owns Borgo Scopeto, along with Altesino, Caparzo, and Doga delle Clavule, and she and winemaker Massimo Bracalente are responsible for all aspects of the production of Borgo Scopeto wines. The first bottle of Chianti Classico with the Borgo Scopeto label dates back to 1990.
