“An aroma of freshly cut hay gives way to cherry, leather, iron and sanguine flavors in this broad, muscular red, backed by a solid structure, with good underlying acidity for freshness and focus on the lingering aftertaste. Shows fine balance, but needs time to integrate fully. Best from 2023 through 2043.”

“A characterful Gran Selezione that shows wet earth, cedar, tobacco, dried berries and spices. Medium to full body, drying tannins and a medium-chewy finish. Drink now or hold.”
About The Winery
Borgo Scopeto is an old and well-established estate producer of Chianti Classico. It is a true borgo - a hamlet with its own church, post office, town center, and residences. Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini owns Borgo Scopeto, along with Altesino, Caparzo, and Doga delle Clavule, and she and winemaker Massimo Bracalente are responsible for all aspects of the production of Borgo Scopeto wines. The first bottle of Chianti Classico with the Borgo Scopeto label dates back to 1990.
