"The Reyneke team use biodynamically farmed grapes from two blocks, planted in 1974 and 1976, to produce this superb, wild flower-scented Chenin Blanc. Aged in foudres and older barrels, it has aromas of hay and honey, with layers of citrus and nectarine fruit. 2022-27”

“The 2021 Chenin Blanc Biodynamic is a whole bunch pressed and aged mostly in foudres and three or four used barrels. It is aged on the gross lees for ten months before blending. It has a well-defined nose with honeysuckle and light orange pith scents, is nicely focused and gains intensity with aeration. The palate is poised and focused, a touch of spiciness on the entry, the old vines (planted 1974 and 1976) imparting complexity and mineralité on the finish. Very sophisticated.”
About The Winery
In 1988, the Reyneke family bought the farm Uitzicht, a 90-acre farm on the ridge of the Polkadraai Hills, with spectacular views of Stellenbosch. Contemporaneously, Johan Reyneke began the lengthy process of the conversion from conventional farming to organic practices to a method of farming which was in accordance with biodynamic principles. Reyneke was the first farm in South Africa to achieve certification by Demeter International, the largest, and arguably, the most widely acknowledged biodynamic accreditation body in the world.
The farm produces several ranges of wines including Reserve, Biodynamic, Organic, and Vinehugger. They also produce a red blend named The Capstone with the proceeds of the wine helping the farm workers and their families.
