"A mischievous, delicate and addictive nose with notes of white flowers and stone fruit. The palate is exceptionally pure, with a clear, caressing texture and movement, and a remarkably clean, elegant, mineral finish. 2023."

"A second dry white for Climens under new owner Jean-Hubert Moitry. Still 100% Sémillon, reflecting the vineyard plantings, this is from a selection of juice that is aged entirely in wine globes. Delivers complex notes of honeysuckle and grilled almond, along with chamomile, fennel, citrus, and hay, a ton of intensity, in the luscious frame of the vintage. Clear smoke. Berenice Lurton still on board as consultant. 23-04-23."

"The maiden 2022 Lilium (FYI, Latin for lily) is more or less the same as the Asphodele but represents a selection that is aged in WineGlobe. It has a light Granny Smith and white flower-scented bouquet that offers slightly more presence than the Asphodele. The palate is well balanced with a more resinous texture and seems to have more matière. Texturally satisfying, this is one to look out for after bottling, though quantities will be limited to 3,000 bottles. Neal Martin. 23-04-01."

"The 2022 Lilium is a new dry white label, a separate selection from Asphodele made from 100% Semillon and including some press juice. It offers notes of baking bread, toasted almonds, and fennel seed before opening out to a core of Golden Delicious apples and pear tart. The medium-bodied palate is wonderfully yeasty/savoury, with subdued fruit and a mineral-laced finish. 3,000 bottles produced. Lisa Perrotti-Brown. 23-06-01."

"More concentration than Asphodele but aromatically a little shy. Greater tension on the palate, though, keeping the wine upright and long. Will have to see how it develops. 23-04-20."

About The Winery
The exceptionally distinguished Château Climens is classified as a 1er Cru Classé and known as the 'Lord of Barsac'. Its history dates to the 16th century, and only six families have owned the estate from its origins. This is a rare occurrence which explains why its surface area in a continuous single vineyard has practically remained unchanged since the date of its creation. At Château Climens, only the Semillon grape variety is used. Thanks to the limestone terroir of Climens, the estate is able to produce not only unique sweet wines but also exceptional dry white wines.
